Staff - Norman Gunn
Director (Owner)
Experience
I have now worked within the Scottish Construction Industry for a total of over 36 years. Starting originally as a Junior Assistant Engineer in 1970 with the, then Inverness-shire Water Board before switching to Ross & Cromarty Highways Department for a six year spell designing & constructing roads. I returned to the Highland Regional Council Water & Sewage Department in 1979 and remained throughout the various changes in the department until the demise of North of Scotland Water Authority (NOSWA) in 2002, when I decided to take the banishment (voluntary severance) package.
On leaving NOSWA I took a brief sabbatical before working freelance from home carrying out pipeline design work for Pipeline Consultants Ltd. After completion of the contract for Pipeline Consultants, I was engaged by Scottish Water as a Technical Consultant for a period based in Torridon House.
For the past three years I have worked as a Director of Gunn MacPhee & Associates Ltd., which I set up in 2003 with my business partner & friend Colin MacPhee. This period I have to say has not only been the most demanding time in my working career so far but also the most enjoyable.
